The Scottsdale Cultural Council's Community Arts Grants Program provides funding for Scottsdale-based arts and cultural organizations as well as to Valley arts organizations for projects that take place in the Scottsdale community to promote long-term growth in Scottsdale's arts community and to meet short-term funding needs. Just as implemented last year, there are two grant categories: projects and general operating support. General Operating Support grants are designed to support Scottsdale-based organizations whose missions are primarily the arts. Grant requests should be at least $1,000 but not more than $20,000. Twelve copies of the 3 hole punched Grant applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009, to: Grants Program Attn: Marilyn Williams Scottsdale Cultural Council 7380 East Second Street Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Please address any application questions to: Marilyn Williams Community Arts Grant Administrator marilynw@sccarts.org 480-874-4660.
Official notification of grant awards will be mailed by July 2009.
Grant funds are to be expended for activities occurring between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. A final report must be submitted to the Scottsdale Cultural Council within 90 days of the project completion date or by September 30, 2010 whichever date is earlier. The report must delineate expenditure of funds and describe the success and challenges of the project. Eligibility

The Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is contracted by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, to administer certain City arts and cultural projects and to manage the City-owned Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Scottsdale Public Art Program. The programs of the Scottsdale Cultural Council are made possible, in part, by the support of members and donors and grants received from the Arizona Commission on the Arts through appropriations from the Arizona State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
